Greetings and welcome to the Far West Region website
We want to inform you of major changes coming to the Reformed Church in America (RCA) and offer to help you navigate the changes. As of December 30, 2026, the RCA is completing a restructuring that will eliminate the Regional Synods. This will conclude our work with the six classes in our area. Here is the contact information for the new groups, called Middle Assemblies, that will be forming. The information will still link you to the ‘Classis,’ but it will help you connect with the leaders in the newly forming structures.

California Middle Assembly
This group will be based in the southern California area. – Their focus is: Multi-ethnic, Justice-Oriented, Gospel-Centered, Neighbor-Loving.

Cascades Classis
Cascades Classis is moving to the newly forming Reformed Global Assembly and will become a part of that organization. It will no longer have a specific Northwest geographic definition.

Central California Middle Assembly
This group is based in the Central California valley and the San Francisco Bay area.

Middle Assembly of the Americas
This group is connected by an affinity primarily focused on Spanish speaking ministries. Its main center is southern California, but is has ministries in other states and in Latin America. The best contact for them is:

Rocky Mountain Classis
Rocky Mountain Classis is joining with the Southwest Classis as it forms a new Middle Assembly.

Southwest Middle Assembly
This group includes RCA ministries in Arizona, Colorado and New Mexico. It has a unique multicultural flavor including Hispanic and Native American Ministries.
